Many of us in America celebrated Grace VanderWaal’s win on America’s Got Talent this past month, but in Norway there’s another young songstress wowing crowds with her breathtaking voice.
Angelina Jordan originally hit the stage of Norway’s Got Talent in 2013 when she was just seven years old. People have compared the young jazz vocalist to Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse, and it’s obvious why. She’s got a powerhouse voice that’s also full of tone fit for a singer with wisdom and experience far beyond her years.
When I was a kid, I was mostly into Britney Spears, N*Sync, and whatever else was on the radio at the time. Jordan on the other hand, counts Frank Sinatra and Dinah Washington among her favorite singers.
Here she is singing Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday” auditioning for Norway’s Got Talent three years ago (performance begins at the 30 second mark), and later at age 10 performing “Fly Me to the Moon” on NBC’s Little Big Shots!
Absolutely beautiful!
