Feed the Turkey Counting Activity

by Jenna Gleason

Enjoy this fun turkey themed counting activity this Thanksgiving! It’s a simple game to make and is a great hands-on way for kids to learn and practice counting.

Materials:

Dice

Brown Paper Bag

Construction Paper

Googly Eyes

Rolos

Directions:

  1. Cut a circle out of the paper bag for the mouth.
  2. Cut out red, orange, yellow and brown construction paper feathers.
  3. On the back side of the paper bag, glue the feathers to the top.
  4. Glue your googly eyes above the circle you cut out for the mouth.
  5. Using construction paper, cut out a beak and a snood.
  6. Glue the beak and snood below the eyes.
  7. Gather your Rolo game pieces.

Instructions:

Have your child roll the dice. Whatever number they roll, is the number of Rolos they have to “feed” the turkey. If they count the right amount, for 3-5 rounds they get a prize!
