Kids Activities: 5 Must-Try Spring Play Recipes

Spring Play Recipes

1. Sidewalk Chalk Paint

This is a great alternative to plain ole sidewalk chalk. Bring out the artist in your child with a muffin tin of colorful chalk paints and several paintbrushes.

Recipe:

In a muffin tin, mix 1 part cornstarch to 1 part water. You can add more water for a thinner paint. Add food coloring.

2. Fizzing Puddle Bombs

We've had more rainy days lately than sunny ones, but that's okay! Rain leaves puddles, and puddles are awesome fun.

Recipe:

½ cup baking soda

Food coloring

2 Tbsp citric acid

Mix above ingredients together, then add 1 tsp of olive oil.

The mixture should be doughy by still crumbly. If it's not holding together well, keep adding a small amount of olive oil until you can form a ball with it. Then once formed, allow the fizzing bombs to dry overnight. Also try the recipe for DIY Bath Bombs on Fun at Home with Kids. I thought it would be great to make fizzing balls with or without the dinosaurs to use for puddle play!
